Temple in the northwestern corner of the county town of Yingxian, is Sakyamuni Pagoda. Since it was built completely of timber, it has been known popularly as the Wooden Pagoda of Yingxian County.
The thousand-year- old temple collapsed in the flood, but the towering pagoda survived and stood firm. The thirteen-storey brick structure, modeled after wooden counterparts, is 54.66 meters high.
