A man allegedly threw water at Aam Aadmi Party chief Arvind Kejriwal in Delhi on Saturday evening, NDTV reported. The person was detained by the police.

The Aam Aadmi Party alleged that the man who attacked Arvind Kejriwal was a worker of the BJP but the saffron party refuted this accusation. The accused has been detained and further investigation is underway.

As per the police, the AAP Chief was shaking hands with the public when a person namely Ashok Jha attempted to throw "water" on Arvind Kejriwal, but he was immediately caught as the police staff was nearby along with ropes.

Visuals showed that a man approached the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) national convenor when he was acknowledging the crowd and hurled a liquid at him, which was supposedly water, sources said.

A person tried to throw a liquid on former Delhi CM and AAP National Convenor Arvind Kejriwal during his padayatra in Delhi's Greater Kailash area. The person was later held by his security staff.

Visuals show the AAP chief stunned as his security personnel and supporters subdued the man, who was later identified as Ashok Jha.
