A winter weather advisory will remain in effect for all of north Alabama until 10 a.m. The National Weather Service in Huntsville said black ice will be possible on roads until temperatures rise above freezing. In north Alabama, the Madison County Sheriff’s Office has issued a travel advisory due to ice-coated bridges and roads. Many roads in the country are unsafe for travel, officials said, and “we strongly advise against venturing onto the roads today.”

The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency is sharing information on roadway conditions Friday morning, urging “extreme caution” when driving in winter weather, as well as on icy roadways.
