CNN’s chief data analyst Harry Enten said that California Gov. Gavin Newsom’s name has been searched more than “ever before” since the governor has feuded with President Donald Trump over the immigration protests across Los Angeles.

A federal judge’s National Guard order, backlash to roughing up Padilla, and growing protests show the administration may have overplayed its hand.

While the president contends that the L.A. protests against his immigration policy have been chaotic, the scenes are not as violent.

Both leaders have clashed with the Trump administration recently over the protests, after President Donald Trump activated the state National Guard and deployed Marines to help protect federal officers and buildings.

Over the years, Trump has threatened to intercede in the state’s long-running homeless crisis, vowed to withhold federal wildfire aid as political leverage in a dispute over water rights, called on police to shoot people robbing stores and warned residents “your children are in danger” because of illegal immigration.

A Federal court hearing will determine if the Donald Trump Administration can deploy military forces for immigration raids in Los Angeles. California Governor Newsom & local leaders oppose this move,
