The Colorado Avalanche have begun their summer offseason moves, as NHL trades had already begun ahead of free agency and the 2025 NHL Draft. Forwards Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood were traded to the Columbus Blue Jackets Friday in return for forward prospect Gavin Brindley and two draft selections,

Coyle has recorded 189 goals and 485 points in 950 career NHL games, while Wood has 91 goals and 182 points in 513 games

In need of salary cap space, the Colorado Avalanche created some on Friday by trading Charlie Coyle and Miles Wood to the Columbus Blue Jackets. In return, the Blue Jackets traded prospect forward Gavin Brindley, a 2025 third-round pick, and a conditional 2027 second-round pick to Colorado.
