Fenway Park concession workers went on strike on Friday, the Unite Here Local 26 union announced on X. Workers walked out at noon after the venue’s food vendor, Aramark, failed to meet the union’s demands for better wages. It marks the first strike in Fenway’s 113-year history.

After their contract with vendor Aramark expired at the end of 2024, the concession workers of Fenway Park have been urging the food services and facilities manager to negotiate for a new one. One with some conditions — decreased reliance on vending machines and better pay with more consistent scheduling of shifts — stuff you’d expect.

The union representing Aramark workers at Fenway Park and MGM Music Hall is giving the company two days to settle a new contract.
