Thousands of people nationwide have shown up at protests and rallies opposing ICE raids as unrest grows in response to the Trump administration's immigration crackdown.

At 10:44 p.m., as police officers attempted to arrest the suspects — identified as 34-year-old Trenton E. Barker and 25-year-old Austin J. Deever — a third protester punched and tried to choke a police officer. The officer was not seriously injured, the statement said. Police identified the third person as Geovanna Carrasco, 27.

A peaceful protest by hundreds of people in downtown Las Vegas on Wednesday evening calling for an end to immigration enforcement raids escalated into confrontations with law enforcement.
