Denis Villeneuve is set to direct the next James Bond film for Amazon MGM Studios, the studio abruptly announced on Wednesday.

Canadian filmmaker, will direct the next James Bond film, Amazon MGM Studios has announced.In a statement released by the studio, Villeneuve says he is a "die-hard James Bond fan" and intends to "honor the tradition" of the franchise.

As revealed overnight, Villeneuve – who is undoubtedly one of the 21st Century's most accomplished directors, with the likes of Blade Runner 2049 and Arrival on his resume, will take the reins in Bond 26,; though the all-important new Bond casting has yet to be decided.
