A 63-year-old man missing since July 1 was found dead Thursday at the bottom of a 300-foot cliff in forestland southeast of Salem, the Linn County Sheriff’s Office said.

The body of a missing Linn County man has been recovered hundreds of feet down a cliff near Snow Peak, in the Santiam State Forest.

A man who had been missing from Albany since July 1 was found deceased on Thursday in the Snow Peak area, according to the Linn County Sheriff’s Office.

Nine days after he was last seen, authorities said the body of David Winter was found in the Willamette National Forest.
