India captain Rohit Sharma and opener Yashasvi Jaiswal were named in Mumbai's 17-member squad for their next Ranji Trophy encounter against Jammu and Kashmir.

MUMBAI: India's Test & ODI captain Rohit Sharma will play for Mumbai in their upcoming Ranji Trophy match against Jammu & Kashmir under veteran batsman Ajinkya Rahane's captaincy.On Monday, the Mumbai selectors,

Rohit Sharma and Yashasvi Jaiswal have been named in Mumbai's squad for the sixth round of the Ranji trophy clash against Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit last played in the domestic red-ball tournament in 2015 when he featured for Mumbai in a clash against Uttar Pradesh.

Indian captain Rohit Sharma will be looking to get his touch back when he plays for Mumbai for the first time in almost a decade in the Ranji Trophy when they face Jammu & Kashmir from January 23 at the MCA-BKC Ground. Regular skipper Ajinkya Rahane will lead the Mumbai side, according to an announcement from the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA).

The team will continue to be led by the seasoned Ajinkya Rahane, the Mumbai Cricket Association (MCA) said while announcing the squad on Monday.

India captain Rohit Sharma confirmed that he will feature in Mumbai’s next Ranji Trophy fixture against Jammu and Kashmir, beginning on January 23 at the MCA-BKC ground.

Rohit was last seen for Mumbai in a Ranji Trophy game in 2015, with a game against Uttar Pradesh. Along with Rohit, Yashasvi Jaiswal will also be available for the crucial game against Jammu and Kashmir. Rohit even attended the match simulation ahead of the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 un-pause and faced pacers alongside his colleague Ajinkya Rahane.

Rohit scored only 31 runs in five innings in a disastrous tour of Australia, seeing him drop himself for the fifth Test in Sydney. India lost the series 3-1, and Rohit's future in the longest format of the game is up in the air.

Some of the biggest names in Indian cricket, also part of India's ICC Champions Trophy 2025 squad, are set to feature in the Ranji Trophy 2024-25 season, starting on January 23. Participating in domestic cricket will help these star players regain form and fine-tune their skills ahead of the international tournament.
