Former Texas Longhorns guard Tre Johnson and his father's bond was the focus of his post-draft interview after being selected by the Washington Wizards.

The 19-year-old averaged 19.9 points as a freshman and could provide instant offense; rebuilding Wizards also get Illinois wing Will Riley via trade later in the first round.

The Washington Wizards have selected Tre Johnson with the No. 6 pick in the 2025 NBA draft. Johnson delivered flashes of his star upside during his lone season at Texas, earning SEC Freshman of the Year, Second-Team All-SEC and SEC All-Freshman honors.
