For Triple-A Toledo, Detroit Tigers right-hander Troy Melton posted a 2.72 ERA with nine walks and 56 strikeouts across 36⅓ innings in eight games.

Melton, 24, was the team’s fourth-round pick out of San Diego State in 2022 and he’s had a meteoric rise through the system.

In the entirety of his minor league career he has played in 66 games (63 starts) and gone 12-12. He has struck out 319 batters to just 50 walks and posted an ERA of 3.63 in that time.
