A little research on the 11700k has shown that it can run hot when under heavy load - I'd like to avoid this. I am not a computer expert, but I've learned that power consumption can be controlled by the motherboard.

Was running at 200w, 4.8ghz all core load, stable 66-69 Celsius, most I've seen it peak to is 4.92 on a single core load. What can I do to get it to hit the magic 5.0?

Im running 11700k at 5.1ghz 4 cores and 5 ghz on 4 cores, no voltage changes yet, no freezes or crashes MSI 2070 super, will upgrade to 3080 when prices are not so greedy Cooler is 115i liquid corsair, paste is Thermal Grizzly conductonaut. All case fans have modified profiles and change colour from green to red as CPU temp increases

The 11700K is listed by Intel for $400, the 11900K is listed by Intel for $540... Both are 8 core 16 thread processors with the only difference being binning / clock speed. These prices are what retailers are being charged, not consumers so prices will probably be higher to the consumer for the retailer to make a profit margin.

Just wondering what's better, a higher LLC with a more aggressive voltage offset, or the lowest level of LLC with less of a voltage offset? There seems to be stability issues at idle going past a certain offset. Asus B560-G

Mar 16, 2021 · Not the first time Intel and the fan boys try to move the goalpost to support Intel. Eg Only real world benchmarks is the ones Intel wins. Power Consumption doesn't mean anything now that Intel has many processors that uses more power and produce far more heat than bulldozer fx9590.
