The L3 cache has also been increased by 33%, up from 12 MB to 16 MB. This is in fact an identical hardware configuration to the Core i9-9900K.

The Intel Core i7-10700K is a desktop processor with 8 cores, launched in April 2020. It is part of the Core i7 lineup, using the Comet Lake architecture with Socket 1200. Thanks to Intel Hyper-Threading the core-count is effectively doubled, to 16 threads.

Oct 14, 2021 · -I *think* that i7 10700k being advertised as a gaming processor is programmed by an algorithm by default to overclock to a safe speed so the gamers go "woooow power". Because when I went into power settings, and change highest CPU performance to 99% it clocked down to 2 GHz and now stays 2 GHz to 3 GHz when idle.

May 29, 2020 · This is a bug in the 10700K and has to do with the integrated GPU. The only way to get around this issue currently is to plug a display into the onboard video and have it enabled. Doing so completely removes the stutter/hitching in games. I have experienced this on 2 different boards with a 10700K now and this solution "works" for both systems.

We saw pretty amazing tweaking potential from the 10700 non-K, so we'll definitely compare against that in the Core i7-10700K review, and of course against AMD's Ryzen 9 3900X.
