Dec 17, 2024 · Whitefish are like tic flies with A.D.D.. They have a brain the size of a pea and only use a small part of it. I can’t imagine what they are thinking when they blast up at a bait. I know its cousin the Lake Trout can be a cagey fish with a powerful and elegant cantor. They glide through the water and can be in full thrust effortlessly.

I like jigging sand kickers or Swedish pimples in Chartreuse, green, white, glow and brown. Soft plastics can be very effective. And again, You need a good hook set, I also use braid with fluorocarbon leader.

Dec 12, 2008 · There are alot of very good streams in Westmoreland County. Yough River and Loyalhanna creek are top 2 in this County. Loyalhanna had delayed harvest and regular stream. Yough you are allowed to keep 3 trout daily > if you want until regular trout season comes back in April, then 5 till Sept.1 or around that date.

Jan 24, 2025 · There is some great info on the attached link in the lake trout board, down at the bottom. There is a ton of great information on youtube as well. Tube baits, spoons jigging raps, jig with bait all work. Points and humps are a great place to start. Lake trout will be on the bottom and everywhere in between.

Nov 24, 2005 · My lake trout in Colorado hit extremely light too. Usually its just added weight on a jigging rod or the line will go slack, even with a big fish. They hit about the same as a perch or crappie here. On a tip up set on the lightest setting, they often can grab the bait and rob it without tripping the flag. That is how light Colorado lake trout hit.
