This is a great machine...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Steven MW
This is a great machine that I purchased to replace my previous machine which was about 6 years old at the time.\n\nPros\n- Very small case, it can fit in even the smallest of desks.\n- In spite of it's small form factor, there is a surprisingly high upgradability.\n- 400W 80 plus gold PSU\n- At the time of purchase, the tech specs stated that it would come with Win 11 installed. When I received it and booted it for the first time, I was happily surprised when I was greeted with the Win 10 welcome screen! I thought I would be stuck with a new OS and it's inevitable new bugs, but was happy with this outcome.\n- The GTX 1660 super is perfect for 1080p gaming at med/high settings which is my preferred way of gaming.\n- The included wireless keyboard and mouse are decent, and helps keeps a clean look for any setup.\n- They also included screws for an extra hard drive and an extra M3 screw for the M.2 slot! So many prebuilt machines fail to include these little extras, so I want to give HP credit for doing something small, but makes a huge difference to the end-user.\n- Wifi card is preinstalled in the other M.2 slot and doesn't have cables connected to the front panel, which makes getting into the machine much easier.\n- TONS of USB type A ports! 4 superspeed ports on the front, 2 5 Gb and 2 10Gb, 4 USB 2.0 ports on the rear. The included SD card reader is also quite convenient. \n\nCons\n- While the case was designed to allow decent air flow, it does not take advantage of it. The black bracket in the case has pre-drilled holes to allow a intake fan to be installed, however there isn't one, and the way the holes are spaced out, it's for a 70mm fan, which is a very odd, and rarely used fan size. Also there is only one chassis fan connector on the motherboard and it's a 3 pin. I would've liked to see a 4 pin that way the fan speed could be controlled instead just spinning at it's maximum all the time.\n- The ram my machine came with was only single rank, so the chips were only on one side. This was not stated on the tech specs for the machine and I believe it should be. I was going to upgrade the ram anyway, but it would've been nice to know for sure.\n- The sata cables are the rarely used left angle connectors. This was a strange choice, but for whatever reason, the way the sata ports are on the motherboard and where the hard drives are mounted, you have to use a left angle sata cable. Due to this, my right angle sata cables have the 90 degree side connected to the motherboard, and I have to twist the other end to connect it to my other hard drives. \n- There are only two sata power connectors, so to install more than 2 sata devices you would have to get a Y splitter cable.\n- There is only one PCIe x16 slot for the GPU, but the only other PCIe slot is only x1 and there are very limited cards that would be useful to install. I wish it was x4 or more.\n- Only one M.2 slot for NVMe SSD and it's located pretty far away from the PCIe slots and CPU which is also another odd placement choice. If they could put another slot right above the GPU that would be perfect for the main boot drive.\n\nNow most of this review would only be relevant to users that want to upgrade their machine. I imagine most people would not go as far as I have. But I think having this information out there will help others decide which machine to buy.

Pros: Easy Setup. Connected Quickly...
Reviewed on www.newegg.com·Mike, Farmington NH
Pros: Easy Setup. Connected Quickly to my existing LAN. Very compact; saving a little bit more on my desktop space. Cons: The only negative in my eyes is the amount of space inside the case itself that limits the use of normal sized graphic cards and expansion bays. Overall Review: I highly recommend this product to the gamer in the family as it suits my needs. The setup was simple, and it was even better than I expected when it comes to performance compared to the machine that it had replaced. My earlier homemade model was more for the over clocker/graphic-hoe gamer, but this does not affect my gameplay especially for the price and the specifications. The machine boots up quick and clean within 5 seconds and loads the internet and all applications without lag or bogging it down. I attribute this to the Solid-State Hard Drive and of course the i7 processor which I recommend to anyone who wishes to make their pc run a lot smoother and faster. I could not be more satisfied with the product.

Reviewed on www.walmart.com·The Shoe
The mini desktop works great so far. It would be nice if it had a bit more space inside to allow for two 3.5 HDD's and 2 PCIe expansion slots instead of one each. But I knew that when I bought it. I was able to install two 2TB SSD in the space where one HDD would fit. \n\nSo far it's snappy and I'm getting the hang of Windows 11... gradually. \n\nI separately bought a 3.5" DVD external USB3 enclosure so I can access DVD's and BluRay disks via a USB port. Seems to work well so far also. \nThe Nvidia 4060 is driving my three 27" monitors without issue. I'm not a gamer so I can't speak to response in that area. \nLove the 32GB of RAM and the quick startup from the 1TB PCIe NVMe SSD. All this coupled with the Intel i7 14 Gen CPU and the holiday sale price.. well I just couldn't pass it up !!

With Windows 11 OS preinstalled...
Reviewed on www.walmart.com·Andrew G2
With Windows 11 OS preinstalled the time to boot and log in is far improved from the Windows 10 PC we were previously using. That's a huge improvement. It has plenty of processing power and is excellent for all browsing and application usage. We are very pleased with this PC except for the ON/Off button. It appears the styling won over practicality in the power button design. The power button is recessed and very thin causing a difficulty when trying to start and stop the PC. It appears to be sized and designed based on the case design rather than ergonomics. My wife and I find this to be a surprise since all other components and performance are excellent and at a very attractive price. The on/off power button on the front case should be larger and easier to use.

I was replacing my eleven year old HP Envy desktop that died during a series of intermitten power failures. The hard drives were ok but the motherboard was fried. Was able to set up the new desktop easily even though I was unfamiliar with Windows 11. Having so many USB ports on both the front and back of the new PC made connection of peripherals easy. I was able to restore all of my data from the hard drives I pulled from my old desktop as well as an external backup hard drive. I scavenged the DVD/Bluray drive and connected it externally to the new PC since this model has no DVD drive. I have added a UPS battery to my configuration to keep power outages from causing problems. The new PC is faster and slightly smaller than my last unit. It is a pleasure to use.

I always did like HP over all the others. This is not my first one. They all ran grate and I still have them in working order. This one is the faster of them all. Plays all the games I play on max settings and still keep the fps maxed out on all the games. Boots up in a few seconds, load games fast and I have them on the 1 TB HDD. The OS is on the SSD, But the computer has no lag at all, and is faster then I thought it would be while gaming, Everything on this computer is really fast, I will keep buying HP computers for a long time, So are they are the best out of all the computers I had in my life time so far,

Had to replace a desktop after a lighting strike and chose this desktop unit. \r\nAfter I debloated the computer; I got this unit down to 60 processes and it turned into a little blazing fast desktop unit that surprised me. \r\nI added 2 things to this unit; a 1TB SSD for extra storage and a little 1050ti GPU I had.\r\nThis is used for the basic things and playing a few games (which are surprisingly smooth; with the edition of a GPU) such as world of warcraft (I'm averaging 120 fps). \r\nThe one thing that I DO NOT LIKE about the HP design is the "breakaway" panels in the back; that is dangerous and sharp when adding a video card, a very bad part of the design. \r\n\r\nOtherwise if I catch this unit on sale again will I buy one; answer is YES.

Will Stick With HP

Had an old HP Envy windows 8 and had it updated to windows 10. Computer was about 15 years old and used almost daily for my small business and home. Would have kept it if it wasn't for the fact that my windows 10 could not be updated and started having problems with USB ports going out. So far the new Envy I purchased is doing very well. Hopefully windows 11 will be here for awhile. I have stuck with HP for many years and at my age will not switch.

Loaded mine with extra memory and two additional drives (Raid 1 with MS Storage Spaces). I did need to add a SATA cable and mount one drive to the (inside) front of the case to reach the available power cables. HP... the power cables should be a bit longer for more drive mounting options. Also, the front USB ports should be clearly labeled which ones are 2.0 and 3.0. Other than that, very happy.

The HP Envy is basically a commodity and has been the perfect system for me. It has enough power for me and is relatively quiet. The RTX 4060 graphics card may not be the newest but it is more than enough for the few older games I have. I also like the HP Support Assistant for updates. Given the price I paid, I am very happy with the system.
