This election year, abortion will again be a defining issue. Since the overturning of Roe v. Wade, Republican lawmakers have banned abortion in 14 states and restricted in a handful of others. But when given the chance, voters have supported ballot initiatives to protect access to the procedure. In Michigan, where abortion access is protected, voters are nevertheless still thinking about that issue, and Democrats are planning to keep it front and center.
