This little Western Screech Owl is half impossible to spot, as he is the size of a Robin and only weighs a few ounces full grown. They have a very diverse diet in Arizona’s Sonoran Desert that includes rodents, scorpions, lizards, and small snakes. I’d like to think he’s the Western Screech Owl who lost his saguaro cactus home the other day in a storm, and he knew our home would be a safe place to make his new home. | Jeremy Johnson Photography
