In 2019, this giant squid, at least 3 meters (approximately 10 feet) in length, was seen in the midnight (bathypelagic) zone at a depth of 759 meters (2,490 feet). This was the first time that a giant squid had been filmed in U.S. waters and only the second time one had been filmed alive anywhere. Learn more about this lar
